Sound Lock is a program that detects audio levels and stabilizes them so that the volume is never too loud or soft. You may notice that movies sometimes get louder than usual when there's music or sound effects. Sound Lock prevents this from hurting your ears and instead keeps the volume at the same basic level. This means it will increase or decrease volume as necessary.
Primary Feature
Sound Lock is a pretty straightforward program with one main feature. This program is designed to alter volume as necessary so that nothing is too soft or loud. You've probably noticed that movies are sometimes too loud when music is playing. Instead of manually increasing or decreasing the volume to make it perfect again, Sound Lock does the work for you.
You just have to set an overall volume and Sound Lock will ensure your audio input remains at that level. While this most often happens when watching movies, it will also work with songs, video games and anything else with an audio output.
Devices
Sound Lock integrates with any audio device you're using. This means it will work with speakers, headphones or any other audio device that you connect to the computer. It will continue to work in the background to ensure audio perfection.
Filter Mode
While the primary feature of Sound Lock is simply to change your volume and that's it, there's also an advanced filtering mode that allows you to get more specific about how the volume is altered. There is a channel and master filter and you can change the parameters for any output channels to ensure the volume is perfect for your needs. This filter is simple to configure and should only take a few minutes.
Minimal Footprint
Despite having control of your audio output, Sound Lock has a minimal footprint and requires almost no resources. On top of that, it works with the vast majority of programs on your computer. It has no problems integrating with your browser, media players and most other programs with an audio output.
Unless your computer is already struggling to run programs, you won't even notice Sound Lock running in the background. Your download speeds and processing speeds sound remain exactly the same.
No Password Protection
This is the only real problem with Sound Lock and it's very minor. The program doesn't have password protection on it. This means that anyone who has access to your computer can easily alter the volume settings. This could be annoying at most but it's certainly not a security risk or malicious issue. You may have to check the settings after someone else has used the computer.
